Cynthia "Sluggo" McKinney, Jesse Jerkson, Al NonetooSharpton, etc, and the other racists of their stripe. That ain't he whole march, but proves the trio portion can be used as a fight song or an "Alma Mammy"Īnd now, especially for Rep. Nice tune tho', especially the whole march OR the "hymn" portion. With pride and joy within our hearts our flag will always fly We'll fight, we'll fight, with all our might for our red white and blue. Memorial, Memorial, to you we will be true. At least ours wasn't On Wisconsin like everyone else in Tulsa. Though it's been many years since graduation, I'm still a Brahma to the core. It was an honor and a privilege to attend and "serve" MHS. The Symphony's "Bacchanale" will blow you away. The audio files might be better by a bit than the vids, BTW. The sounds were absolutely riveting in person. nd&page=1&offset=0&result_url=redir%3Fsrc%3Dwebsearch%26requestId%3D8 f90691a009af021%26clickedItemRank%3D1%26userQuery% 3DDouglas%2BMacArthur%2BHS%2BBrahma%2BBand%26click edItemURN%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fac%252F%26invocationType%3D-%26fromPage%3DNSCPTop%26amp%3BampTest%3D1&remove_url=http%3A%2F%2FScroll down a bit and find the band and orchestra a/v in the "New and Updated pages" below. On the bright side, exclusivity-wise, our Alma Mater was to "Aura Lee", a Union song circa Civil War AKA "Army Blue" and Elvis's "Love Me Tender". We actually have two fight songs, the other being "Mac Fight', written by agreat guy who was an assistant at Mac after he and I were in college band together. The saving grace is that the Big Blue Brahma Band is a "Dynastic" championship band and made the others sound like poopie by comparison.Ī couple of the schools here use Ohio State's ditty, one uses Michigan's, and there's even one using Minnesota's "Rouser"! A casual passer-by might walk past a stadium on Friday or Saturday and think he's close to a Big Ten (+1) game. There are so many schools in South Texas that use the same that when we advanced to the football 5A (largest classification)quarterfinals a few years ago, EVERY school we played used the same tune. Tell me about it! My alma mater (San Antonio Douglas MacArthur) uses "On Wisconsin" as the tune. Was weird being on the field and hearing your opponent's band playing your fight song. I don't know where we got ours from really, but it was the same as Jenks', so when we played each other both bands played it.
